The Double Slaying Of Elderly Couple Attacked

The Accused Vickie Lynn Williams, 50, was taken into custody on Friday and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the gruesome slayings of Sharon Getman, 80, and her 83-year-old husband, Darryl Getman.

Monday, According to the probable cause affidavit, obtained by Law&Crime, the Getman couple were knifed to death inside their apartment on New Year’s Eve. The court document release how when police arrived at the Getmans’ address at the Waterman Village senior living community around 4 pm December 31. Police found the wife lying in a T-shirt and underwear with a large amount of blood, with white towels next to her as if someone tried to render aid or clean up the mess. Sharon suffered from trauma and a pool of blood from her abdomen, which ran out behind her in the entryway, According to the cops.

Additionally, it was indicated in the affidavit, that her husband Darryl was located nearby, suffering from serious head and facial trauma as well as a large butcher-style knife stuck to the hilt in his abdomen.  Police added that Darryl seemed to have defensive wounds, indicating that he tried to fight off the attacker. Evidence shows pointing to a single assailant.

William Denied The Allegations

Numerous reports about the suspicious Black female later identified as William caused concern among the residents of the retirement community. Several Witnesses claimed to see Williams on Dec. 30 and Dec. 31. at Waterman Village. Furthermore, while Williams was sleeping in the Kia Soul parked at Georgia train station. When authorities found her, Williams allegedly told police she had not been to Florida since 2019.

She also allegedly told police in Georgia that the car she was using belonged to someone named Fuller Blue, who she claimed allowed her to borrow the car. Williams further explained that she was in Savannah, Georgia from Dec. 29 till Dec. 31 and that on Jan. 1, she meet up with her friend Fuller Blue. Moreover, after she told Blue that she was homeless, she claimed that Blue gave her the car to sleep in for a couple of days. But surveillance footage showed that Williams was in the area wearing her sandals or slides before the murder incident, and leaving the retirement community in the Getmans’ car hours before the couple was found dead, authorities said.

Williams’ arraignment is set on Jan. 30 on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of grand theft of a motor vehicle.
