A 16-year-old Teen Positively Identified As A Victim was Found Dead And Fatally Shot In A Burning Vehicle Near D.C.
Authorities have positively identified a victim three months after the human remains were found and discovered in the backseat of a burning car. Anne Arundel County Police officers and firefighters responded after they received a report of a car fire call near Brock Bridge Road and Tribeca Trail on Sept. 27.
According to a published post by True Crime Daily, authorities located a vehicle covered in a big flame in a field about 100 yards off the roadway. Firefighters extinguished the fire and reportedly found charred human remains in the backseat of the vehicle, which were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
3 Months After Incident, 16-Year-Old Victim was Positively Identified
On Sept. 30, which was three days later, Anne Arundel County Police stated that the medical examiner conducted an autopsy on the remains and determined the victim died from a gunshot wound, and the case turned into a homicide investigation.
On Dec. 27, authorities have identified the victim as Marquette Knight, a 16-year-old from Washington, D.C. And he was supposed to turn 17 years old on Nov. 18. There was no new information about Knight’s death, and the homicide investigation still continues and remains ongoing. Anne Arundel Police said.
