Idaho mails rebates depending on the filing status worth between $300 and $600. Alternatively, they could also be 10 percent of a taxpayer’s 2020 income taxes, whichever is higher. According to the state’s Tax Commission, roughly 75,000 rebates per week based on the order returns were distributed. By March 31, it is expected to allocate 800,000 payments.

To qualify for a rebate, 2020 and 2021 tax returns must have been processed by December 31, 2022.  You also must have been a full-time resident from 2020 to 2021.  Qualifying taxpayers in Idaho can verify the status of their rebates online.

On January 30, Maine began sending out its Emergency Energy Relief checks worth $450. Initially sending out 5,000 payments, is now ramping those efforts up to about 200,000 per week. To be eligible for the direct payment, applicants must be a resident, when filing a 2021 tax return, and not claimed as dependents.

Here are some payment restrictions that need to apply:

  • Single filers: below $100,000 per year

  • Joint filers: below $200,000 per year

Around 880,000 residents stand to benefit from the $450 checks. The Maine Revenue Service provides a portal where eligible residents can review the status of their relief checks.
