STIMULUS UPDATE: $800 One-time Tax Refund Shipped Within the Next 14 Days in South Carolina

With 2 weeks left, up to $800 are eligible for a refund for South Carolina residents who filed their 2021 tax returns. According to the South Carolina Department of Revenue, the amount received is based on 2021 tax liability.

It is defined as the amount remaining after deductions have been deducted from the unpaid income tax. For someone paying less than $800 in taxes, the rebate is equal to the amount of the tax paid, but claimants with more than $800 in taxes receive exactly $800.

$3.18 per gallon of gas prices dropped, to the lowest level since September 2021. Before December 31 South Carolina citizens who have filed their 2021 SC1040 tax forms by October 17 will receive a refund. The money will go to similar bank accounts where people received their 2021 refunds.

According to the State Legislation, the Department of Revenue limits the maximum amount you can receive from this rebate to $800. Those who desire to track payments can do so on the Department of Revenue’s website. To do this, they’ll need social security number or individual taxpayer identification number on form SC1040 to use the tracking site.

The residents still have time to receive a discount if they have not yet filed their tax returns. February 15, 2023, is the deadline for submission. The recipient will then receive a refund in March 2023.

The Department of Revenue requires applicants to provide an updated mailing address to properly issue reimbursements if the address has changed since filing the tax return.
