Most Wanted Fugitive Couple Arrested In Mexico

The U.S. Marshal Service on Friday reported the recovery of five children missing from Washington state since 2021 and recovered from the most wanted fugitive couple in Mexico, they are listed as one of the “15 Most Wanted” fugitives lists in connection with their disappearances.

CNN news reports that the most wanted fugitive couple identified as Edgar Salvador Cassian-Garcia, 34 years old, and his girlfriend, Araceli Medina, 38 years old. The couple was arrested in Mexico and was taken into custody last week by Mexican officials, the Marshals Service said, after being charged in Franklin County, Washington, with aggravated murder, four counts of first-degree rape, and three counts of first-degree assault of a child.

US Marshals, with help from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), rescued the five surviving children including their infant son together and Medina’s four biological children in Mexico, and brought them back to the United States.

On Friday, John Bischoff, who leads the Missing Children Division at NCMEC, commented that they are grateful that all five missing children have been rescued safely. Moreover, Bischoff stated that the criminalities that Araceli Medina and Edgar Cassian-Garcia are charged with as heinous crimes and commended the unwavering dedication of law enforcement.

US Marshals Have Search For The Most Wanted Fugitive Couple Since 2021

The international manhunt for Casian-Garcia and Medina started in 2021, when Mexican officials located his two daughters, ages 3 and 8, left at a gas station in Tijuana, Mexico, with “severe physical and sexual abuse,” according to the NCMEC.

The criminal charges for the most wanted fugitive couple came after two of Casian-Garcia’s daughters, ages 3 and 8, were found abandoned in Tijuana, Mexico, in late 2020 and the US Marshals declared that Both girls displayed signs of serious physical and sexual abuse.

During forensic interrogation with the two girls, authorities determined that Medina had been abusing and sex trafficking the Casian-Garcia minors. The 8-year-old girl even claimed that she endured “unimaginable suffering” and rape at Medina’s Washington home.

On February 2022 the most wanted fugitive couple was captured, when hikers discovered human remains in rural Benton County, Washington, about 20 minutes from Casian-Garcia and Medina’s Washington home, According to police in Pasco. The remains were later identified as Cassian-Garcia’s 7-year-old son Edgar Jr. Authorities also said they suspect the boy was tortured to death and his body dumped.

The twisted couple even gave their youngest child the same name as Casian-Garcia’s killed son.
