Woman Offers $100 to Get Inmate Beaten
A woman lured five inmates to attack and beat an inmate to suffer by putting a bounty of $1oo as a reward money . The victim inmate happens to be weak due to prior injuries and was unfortunately beaten into a jail cell by five fellow inmates, it was discovered due to security footage. The attackers blocked the view by using bedsheets so the Detention Deputies could not see the action.
Moreover, the victim was rushed to the hospital to treat his serious injuries including a broken wrist and laceration. All five fellow inmates were taken into custody for battery by a detained person upon another detainee.
The Responsible for the Bounty
Deputy uncovered evidence leading Raymond Wesley Dukes and Margaret Octaviea Watkins to the planned attack. The investigation was turned over to FCSO’s Major Case Unit for full control of the investigation for further research. An affidavit reported by Miami Herald stated that the two were partners in the “hit,” which was ordered because the inmate was “a ‘rat’ for telling law enforcement that (the woman) was selling drugs.”
Watkins offered a bounty of $100 to have the victim beaten in the facility. Dukes, an associate of Watkins, was incarcerated with the victim at the time and relayed the bounty to the five suspects who then carried out the attack.
On December 1st, 2022, arrest warrants for Dukes and Watkins for Principal to Aggravated Battery by a Detained Person upon another Detainee were obtained. Later that day, Watkins and Dukes were arrested by FCSO Deputies in Bunnell and transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. Dukes is currently being held with no bond, Watkins later posted her $25,000 bond and was released.
