A Sigma Nu fraternity member has been charged for an attack that left another Georgia Southern student with a traumatic brain injury and Intracranial Hemorrhage, Statesboro police said.

Attack Outside Georgia Fraternity House

Wednesday, William Kroymann,20, was charged with a single count of aggravated battery for the incident that took place between 1:00-1:30 am on January 13, said Statesboro police in a press release on Friday. Statesboro, Georgia, is located around 55 miles north of Savannah and a house to Georgia Southern University.

Police received a call about a man who was unconscious at an address on Olympic Boulevard, near the Sigma Nu Fraternity, authorities said. Investigators determined that the victim was walking outside the fraternity house when numerous individuals “engaged” him “as he was passing hear the house and then advanced toward the victim on the sidewalk,” police said.

Jennifer Wise GS director of communications confirmed that Kroymann is a member of the Georgia Southern chapter of the Sigma Nu fraternity. The victim is also a Georgia Southern student, Wise added. “Surveillance video shows, leading detectives to believe that there are numerous independent witnesses to the event that have not yet spoken to law enforcement,” quote from a Statesboro police statement.

Kroymann then allegedly attacked the man, which caused him to fall and hit his head on the sidewalk. The victim was hurried to a local hospital, where medical staff determined he had fractured his skull and suffered intracranial Hemorrhage. But The good side is the victim is expected to survive soon.

Kroymann Is Arrested

Kroymann was arrested Wednesday and was being held in the Bulloch County Jail police said. Records showed Kroymann remained in sheriff’s office custody and was being held on a $15,000 bond. Neither the sheriff’s department nor the district attorney’s office had information about his attorney.
