A second suspect allegedly behind a double murder in the Fourth of July deli shooting in Brooklyn has been busted by NYPD.
The NYC Deli Shooting
The accused killer, Dayshawn Vaughns, 22, of Queens, was picked up Thursday. According to Georgia authorities in an online post, Vaughns was busted by NYPD investigators with Muscogee County Sheriff’s office, and Deputy U.S. Marshals, after setting up surveillance around a home they suspected they suspected the fugitive used.
Vaughns and a second suspected gunman, Malachi Kirkland, are accused of opening fire inside the Raspberry Deli on Loring Avenue near Drew Street in East New York at around 11:35 pm on July 4. Sulaiman Odunfa, 21, was gunned in the head and died at the scene. Amir Green, 23, was shot in the neck and died at Brookdale Hospital. However, the third victim, an 18-year-old man, survived after being shot in the torso.
Surveillance Video Shows Incident Of The Crime
Video obtained by The Post at the time shows bullets flying in the bodega and two men shooting wildly, with one of them firing over a store shelf before ducking into a back room.
According to police, alleged accomplice Kirkland was collared a day after the fatal incident, one of at least 14 shootings in the Big Apple on the 4th of July. He was accused of murder and attempted murder, authorities said.
Additionally, the NYPD announced the Vaughn murder arrest Friday night.
