A Louisiana police informant raped twice during a drug sting operation sues her handlers for failing to monitor her in real-time allowing the rapes to happen.
Louisiana Police Informant Sues Police after Being Raped Twice
The lawsuit claims that the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s deputies forced the woman to work as an informant after being arrested on drug charges. The police then failed to protect her during a drug sting operation which resulted in two rape incidents in Jan. 2021. The alleged suspect, Antonio D. Jones was convicted last Nov. 2022 and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
It was really questionable how the police were not able to respond and protect their informant as she was wearing hidden cameras. Jones forced her to perform oral sex twice. There was one instance when he paused to allegedly conduct a separate drug deal.
Police Informant Raped Twice During Drug Sting Operation
According to a post by Fox News, nearby police feared the woman was in the Alexandria stash house where the rape took place for too long. One is already considering going in before ultimately deciding to allow the undercover deal to “play out.”
The ranking official overseeing the operation, retired deputy Lt. Mark Parker stated that the sheriff’s office didn’t start using equipment capable of monitoring in real-time. It was only made possible until after the woman’s rape incident took place. They frequently often sent informants into stings without any recording equipment at all.
