Pennsylvania Woman Arrested For 1987 Murder of Husband After Goose Bite Claims Disprove

It was discovered that the blood from the elderly woman’s pajama didn’t originate from a goose bite, opposite to what she had stated, and she was arrested in Pennsylvania in connection with the shooting of her husband’s death in 1987.

According to the Patriot-News, on Dec. 13, Judith Ann Jarvis, of Millerstown was caught by Pennsylvania State Police Troopers and accused of murdering her 42-year-old husband, Carl Jarvis. Based on the officials, it is stated that just after midnight on August 10, 1987, Judith Ann Jarvis called the police and claimed her husband, Carl Jarvis, was breaking items and they were having a domestic issue.

According to a published post by Front Page Detectives, When the responding troopers entered the couple’s home, they saw a naked Carl Jarvis dead between a bedroom bed and a wall. According to the affidavit, he was shot in the back of the head and died as a result.

As stated by the affidavit, Judith Ann Jarvis had blood on her pajama sleeve and explained that she had been bitten by a goose at that time which caused the stain. In court documents, she also claimed that her husband had shot himself to death.

According to the affidavit, 35 years ago, investigators were able to rule out suicide as a cause of death. Following that brain trauma, “Carl Jarvis would not have been able to walk or conduct any voluntary/directional movement,” according to the affidavit. In light of how the victim’s body was discovered, “Doctor Mihalakis [a forensic pathologist] decided that it would be very impossible for the victim to shoot himself.”

No arrests were made despite the conclusions until state police restarted the investigation and were able to discover the blood on Judith Ann Jarvis’ pajama sleeve was indeed from her husband and not a goose bite as she claimed, according to officials. Without being given a bond, Judith Ann Jarvis was detained in the Perry County Jail.

Lauren Eichelberger, the district attorney for Perry County, expressed her gratitude to the Pennsylvania State Police for their commitment to finding every criminal in the county and the state. Especially with the aid of more cutting-edge technology, I have confidence that we will continue to solve issues like these.
