Valentine’s Day is not a public holiday, meaning sending the payment schedule of the direct payment will not be affected. Four states are sending out direct payments throughout the day that celebrates love.
Here Are The Four States That Offers Direct Payments
- California Direct Payment Worth Up To $1,050
California is still giving out tax rebates, which are worth between $200 and $1,050. Sending of money resumes until Tuesday, February 14, which is, Valentine’s Day. Those who are still waiting should allow up to two weeks from the issued date to receive their debit card in the mail.
January 13, approximately 9.4 million debit cards and about 7.2 million direct deposits have been allocated already. The rebate amount depends on filing status, dependents, and income.
- Connecticut Direct Payment Worth Up To $1,000
Connecticut keeps distributing bonus cash. As part of the state’s Premium Pay program, qualifying workers can get up to $1,000. To qualify you must be employed in the private sector, hence, the program is not available to federal, state, or municipal workers. Moreover, applicants must be full-time employees who made lesser than $100,000.

- Workers earning between $50,000 and $60,000 can anticipate $800
- Workers earning between $60,000 and $70,000 can anticipate $750
- Workers earning between $70,000 and $80,000 can anticipate $500
- Workers earning between $80,000 and $90,000 can anticipate $250
- Workers earning between $90,000 and $100,000 can anticipate $200
- Idaho Direct Payment Worth Up To $600
Idaho mails rebates depending on the filing status worth between $300 and $600. Alternatively, they could also be 10 percent of a taxpayer’s 2020 income taxes, whichever is higher. According to the state’s Tax Commission, roughly 75,000 rebates per week based on the order returns were distributed. By March 31, it is expected to allocate 800,000 payments.
To qualify for a rebate, 2020 and 2021 tax returns must have been processed by December 31, 2022. You also must have been a full-time resident from 2020 to 2021. Qualifying taxpayers in Idaho can verify the status of their rebates online.
On January 30, Maine began sending out its Emergency Energy Relief checks worth $450. Initially sending out 5,000 payments, is now ramping those efforts up to about 200,000 per week. To be eligible for the direct payment, applicants must be a resident, when filing a 2021 tax return, and not claimed as dependents.
Here are some payment restrictions that need to apply:
- Single filers: below $100,000 per year
- Heads of household: below $150,000 per year
- Joint filers: below $200,000 per year
Around 880,000 residents stand to benefit from the $450 checks. The Maine Revenue Service provides a portal where eligible residents can review the status of their relief checks.
