Nine Migrants Rescued From Rail Car In Eagle Pass, Texas
In the Del Rio sector, there were more than 200 rescues in the past 100 days and 9 have died. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials and the Eagle Pass Fire Department said they were able to recuse nine male migrants locked in a rail car near Eagle Pass, Texas. The migrants suffering from dehydration and heat exhaustion after being trapped in the rail car for approximately two days, the fire department said.
The rail cars with Corona Extra carrying at the back along with the migrants that had to extract from a small opening at the top of the stack of beer cases. Eight of the migrants were detained and one was airlifted to Laredo, Texas, for further medical treatment.
Biden Visited El Paso
On Sunday, President Joe Biden visited El Paso, Texas, by responding to the growing pressure from lawmakers to address the record-high levels of illegal immigration. During the visit, Biden inspected a port of entry where CBP officers demonstrated how they search vehicles for drugs, money, and other contraband smuggled into the United States. Some critics chided the president for not visiting areas most detrimental by illegal border crossings, especially at Eagle Pass, which was 481 miles away only.
According to Fox News Digital, a White House representative claimed that Biden “visited the busiest port of entry in El Paso to check the enforcement operations. He also went to a federally funded migrant services center to meet with local officials working together with federal officials to support and shelter migrants.”
