Man Charged With Murder After Remains of Phillip Lewis Found in Harlow Pond

A man has been charged with killing a man after the body was found in a pond in Essex on New Year’s Eve. The remains of Philip Lewis was discovered in Oakwood Pond, in Harlow and the police estimated that his body had been there for at least weeks before it was found.

Being charged with murder, 52-year-old Lee Clark of Wedhey, Harlow has been scheduled to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Monday. A second suspect who is a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and was released on bail until inquiries continue said Skynews.

Philip Lewis Found in Harlow Pond: 52-Year-Old Man Charged With Murder

According to Detective Superintendent Rob Kirby, head of Essex major crime, the police were continuing to drain the pond to allow them to investigate the scene. He followed that over the last eight days, they have had a team of dedicated detectives and forensic experts who have pieced together what they believe to be the circumstances around Phillip’s death.

Since the investigation is still ongoing the police still want to hear from anyone who came into contact with Mr. Lewis after 1 November. The people who saw anything suspicious at the pond in the past two months are also being contacted to give more information and the same goes for those living nearby who have doorbell cams or CCTV.
