A New Mexico father who allegedly left his 1-year-old daughter in a bathtub and buried her body in a backyard has reportedly entered a plea deal says True Crime Daily.

A man who allegedly left his 1-year-old child in a bathtub and buried her body in the backyard has reportedly entered a plea deal. The Albuquerque Police Department reported that the victim, Anastazia Zuber, was reported missing on Jan. 2, 2019.
Authorities said the 1-year-old’s father, David Zuber, said to his mother that the child was supposed to be with his wife, Monique Romero. Zuber’s now ex-wife, Romero, left the child in the bathtub along with her 2-year-old sister. The two were left alone in the tub while she was browsing for jobs on her cell phone, according to KRQE-TV.
The Albuquerque Journal reported that the girl’s body was found in a backyard buried in dirt, wrapped in plastic bags, and stuffed inside a duffel bag. Moreover, an autopsy revealed that the victim had methamphetamine in her system.
Plea Deal By A Father Who Allegedly Left Daughter to Drown in Bathtub
According to the Albuquerque Journal, both parents were charged with child abuse resulting in death. Zuber and Romero stated and said to the family members that the girl drowned in the bathtub.
The New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families Department took custody of the parent’s two other children. Romero faces a sentence of 15 years in prison and pleaded guilty in April, according to KRQE.
Zuber reportedly entered a plea deal on a charge of abandonment of a child resulting in death on Thursday, Dec. 29. He is already in federal prison for dealing in methamphetamine but his sentencing hasn’t been scheduled yet.
