A 26-year-old man was arrested by Nassau County Police Department for allegedly beating a 54-year-old male victim to death after a collision between their vehicles.
How the Incident Started?
The incident happened on the night of April 15 at the intersection of Schuman Place and Forest Avenue. Patrick Destine was driving a gray 2004 Infiniti G35 that collided with David McKenzie’s green 2003 Honda minivan, TRUE CRIME DAILY reports.
According to reports, Destine was drunk, driving an unregistered and uninsured car and he drove through a stop sign before hitting McKenzie’s vehicle. Following the accident, the two drivers had a verbal argument, and Destine allegedly started to violently assault McKenzie, which resulted in his death.
Destine reportedly rummaged through McKenzie’s pockets after he lay lifeless on the ground and stole belongings from his car. He then fled the scene with his girlfriend, 19-year-old Aisha Pitt, and the police chased them on foot.
