Robin Hethorn an Oregon man is accused of killing 62-year-old Theresa Hethorn during a robbery at her home in Monmouth
Police found her body on November 9 and deemed the death as “suspicious.” According to charging documents, Robin killed his mother while attempting to rob her and also stole her car, and committed identity fraud.
Robin Hethorn faced unrelated charges of strangulation and fourth-degree assault in court shortly after the alleged murder. He was convicted of these charges in February, and filings in court questioned his mental fitness to stand trial. However, on Friday, a grand jury indicted him on the charges related to his mother’s death.
In another incident, on March 30, the daughter of Robin Hethorn, Kali Lou Roque, and her husband, Roque-Delaguarda, were found dead in their Salem home. However, authorities have not linked their deaths to the homicide of Theresa Hethorn.
The investigation into their deaths is ongoing, according to officials from the Marion County District Attorney’s Office
The case against Robin Hethorn highlights the tragic consequences of robbery and the importance of seeking help for mental health issues. His alleged actions have led to severe consequences for his family and himself. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Theresa Hethorn and the deaths of Kali Lou Roque and her husband.
As of now, Robin Hethorn remains in custody, and his trial is pending.
