Banks notify customers that an additional Social Security SSI check will be available in March in addition to the upcoming one.
The Social Security payment schedule is known in advance by U.S. banks. They find out when the next checks will be issued by the Social Security Administration in this way. There will be a new extra check in March. This is because during this month you will receive two Supplemental Social Security check payments due to the April 1 holiday.
It’s crucial to keep in mind, though, that this payment might not show up right away. It all depends on the payment method you have chosen, although Social Security always sends payments on the same day. Therefore, the calendar day counted is to determine when Social Security sends the check. It is not used to determine when the beneficiary receives the money.
This extra check is due to a small irregularity in the calendar. So Social Security Supplemental Income beneficiaries may see two different checks throughout the month of March 2023. Even though it is not the most frequent circumstance for this kind of benefit, this situation does occasionally recur.
Who will receive the Supplemental Security Income check on March 31?
On that day, any citizen who has had their SSI application accepted will receive a check. At the very least, Social Security will send it to all beneficiaries that day. When they will receive it will depend on the method of collection, as we have already announced.
While receiving these payments through a bank account is convenient, it can be time-consuming. To receive the funds immediately, we must enable Direct Deposit. We can also link Direct Deposit to certain bank accounts, but this is dependent on the bank. This is always the quickest way to get your Social Security checks.
Second Social Security Disability Insurance (SSI) check
Banks have also informed customers that Social Security will send another SSI check in March 2023. This is due to the irregularity in the calendar. SSI payments are always made on the 1st of each month. When the first of the month falls on a holiday or weekend, the SSA sends the check on the next business day.
Due to the fact that April 1st is a weekend, the Administration will issue the SSI check on March 31st. Those who do not have Direct Deposit enabled may not receive their payment until the following month, as it can take up to three days for the funds to appear in their bank account. To avoid confusion or financial hardship, SSI recipients should be aware of these payment schedules.
