After confronting two men attempting to carjack his vehicle, a man in St. Louis was shot. The man refused to give his keys leaving the carjackers to flee on foot.
According to St. Louis Police, the 20-year-old male victim was approached by two Black males while in the parking lot of a gas station in the 4700 block of S. Spring approached him in south St. Louis and demanded his car keys.
When the victim allegedly refused to hand over his car keys, one of the perpetrators pulled out a gun and shot him once in the left leg.

The two carjackers flee on foot after the incident. On top of that, authorities mentioned that the two men did not successfully steal the victim’s vehicle after the attack.
A witness, who was with the victim at the time of the incident, drove the victim to a local hospital for treatment.
The St. Louis Police Department stated that officers received the call shortly after the incident, around 2:15 A.M.
The investigation is still ongoing, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. At the moment, the carjackers who fee on foot are still at large. Authorities beg the public that if you have any information about the case, please call the department at (314) 444-0100.
