$500 California Guaranteed Income Program

Some residents in Sonoma County have already received their $500 California Guaranteed Income Program and more direct payments are expected to be sent out in the upcoming days. This is for those who are enrolled under the Pathway to Income Equity.

According to a published article in The U.S. Sun, the California Guaranteed Income Program will last for 24 months and this aims to give support to qualified families in Sonoma County to meet their basic needs.

Chris Coursey, chairman of the Sonoma County board of supervisors, said, “These payments will help families with young children who are often struggling under the double burden of the high costs of housing and child care – typically the two highest household expenses.”

He also added that the information that will gather after the “24-month trial” of the $500 California Guaranteed Income Program will help them to improve the healthcare and welfare of the residents in the county.
