Omar Wala is Arrested
About a decade ago, Omar Wala used to be a Molly dealer who made a fortune from Florida International University students. However, his hubris gets him to rock bottom when the feds caught him by tracing a flashy orange Lamborghini registered in his name.
On Tuesday, According to Miami Herald News, Wala is arrested again for the second time around under custody in New York and has been accused by the feds of illegally trafficking in counterfeit Xanax. About a decade ago, Wala was arrested in July 2013 and served time in federal prison, got out in 2016, and seemed to rebuild his life. He purchased a $3 million property in Hialeah Gardens and even become an affordable housing developer in the New York region but unfortunately because of an Instagram post showing off his brand new Lamborghini, was eventually placed under surveillance and soon enough federal agents tracked him.
Wala’s Fortune is Under Investigation
The Eastern District of Kentucky’s indictment wants to seize a number of luxury cars, money in many banks as well Wala’s cryptocurrencies, and dozens of expensive Rolex watches, Audemars Piguet, and Cartier.
The list of names in the indictment is Michael Basalyga, who describes himself on social media as a technician at Miami’s iconic Club Space. Three others Philbert Campbell, Vienna Cavanaugh, and Reina Chirinos de Urena are also in the indictment file but the address was not exposed. on Tuesday evening It was unclear how many of them had been taken into federal prison.
The 33-year-old Wala was arrested in Long Island and was sentenced to a $1 million bond. Paul Petruzzi Miami attorney, defended Wala stating “He’s innocent! it’s a complete fabrication. Why would a guy making legitimately millions of dollars dabble in fake Xanax?”
