Pennsylvania to Send Out $975 Direct Payments to Older and Disabled Residents

Property tax and rent rebates are made available for older and disabled Pennsylvania residents. The program has provided eligible residents of Pennsylvania with assistance totaling more than $7.6 billion since 1971. This was done in an effort to support those less likely to be able to afford their homes.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf expressed that increasing the amount will help older and disabled Pennsylvania residents deal with inflation and higher prices while staying in their homes according to a published post by The US Sun.

Application Procedures and Qualifications

To apply, all you need to do is visit the state website and file rebate applications after reviewing eligibility requirements. This has been made simple and does not require you to create an account. More than 450,000 qualifying Pennsylvanians are encouraged to submit their forms. As long as you meet the income guidelines, you will be eligible for the payments. This also requires you to be 65 years or older, a widower age 50 or over, or an adult with a disability.

Applicants must make $35,000 or less as a homeowner and $15,000 or less as a renter. This also entails that half of Social Security income will be excluded from your measure of annual income. Since the rebates are based on yearly income and property taxes or rent you also need to apply each year in order to secure your check. Pennsylvania residents are set to receive the standard property tax and rent rebate of $650. Some homeowners will receive supplemental payments which increase their rebate to $975.
