Colorado Governor Jared Polis proposed to the lawmakers millions of budgets to increase the workforce, tax relief, and rebates for renewable energy.
Increasing Workforce in Colorado
The gap between the workforce and the availability of jobs continues to grow in the state of Colorado. Gov. Jared Polis described this as good news and bad news and he wants to invest $70 million to fill these jobs. The proposed money will go towards training in the field of education, law enforcement, and advanced manufacturing.
He said, “These are other fields that we need people in and we’re going to reduce costs and make it free for people to get certification in this field. We have twice the number of job openings than we have unemployed people in our state. That’s a good problem to have, but it’s also a bad problem to have.”

Increasing Relief Taxes
In a published article in FOX 31, Gov. Polis wants to set aside $200 million to provide immediate relief to homeowners. This is a long-term plan that he wants to create a more permanent solution to the growing commercial and residential property taxes but this needs the help of the lawmakers.
Gov. Polis said, “The danger is if we don’t provide additional property tax relief, Coloradans could be priced out of where they live just because of increased property values.”
Incentive for Using Renewable Energy
In the same source of the report, Colorado Governor also wants to increase the incentives for using renewable energy. This targets the rebates for electric vehicles, e-bikes and electric lawnmowers, and leaf blowers. An amount of $120 million is proposed for this to happen.
