$500 For Two Years In Virginia
170 participants have been lucky enough to be chosen for program of “Alexandria’s Recurring Income for Success and Equity” to receive the monthly payments. Everyone will be permitted to use the funds as they see appropriate.
According to a news release, Mayor Justin Wilson sait that the initiative was developed with the aim of modernizing how the city assists it’s citizens who require financial support.
Receptients Of The $500 Payment is Randomly Selected
On Dec 13, the city started to notifying applicants that they had been randomly chosen. Moreover, if one of these applicants withdraws from the program, they will redu the process in selecting participants via pool to replace the withdrawn candidate.
Applications for the program were opened on Oct. 31 and closed a bit more than a week later on Nov 9. To be eligible, applicants must be a residents in Virginia, aged 18years old and above, at least earn 50% or less of Alexandria’s area median income, which varies depending on the number of people in the applicant’s families.
For people with only one person in a household, the monthly income limit is $4,154, with the annual income limit at $49,890. The monthly and yerly limits increase slightly with every person in a household, with the monthly income limit for a two-person household being $4,746 and the annual limit for the same household being $56,950.
