$2,000 Stimulus Checks for Pennsylvania Resident
Governor Tom Wolf’s efforts to push Pennsylvania to be able to have $2,000 stimulus checks directly to Pennsylvania households amid the federal government’s popular stimulus check program that many said helped keep them in their homes and put food on their tables when the economy was shut down and workers were laid off.
However, despite the efforts, Wolf pushed to be part of a $1.7 billion PA Opportunity Plan and public campaigning, Pennslyvania was unsuccessful to receive the state-funded $2,000 stimulus checks.
According to abc27’s Wolf said the Funds are free money from the federal why won’t they just send it? and the Republicans opposed doing it. Furthermore, after the budget passed Wolf is still optimistic that there would be an opportunity instead of using federal money, he suggests using state money instead.
Gov. Wolf’s Plan
In Wolf’s plan, Pennsylvania families whose income of $80,000 or below are eligible to receive the $2,000 direct payments. According to Wolf while residents face inflation at the grocery store and gas pump the $2,000 would be a huge benefit in assisting the Pennsylvanians’ finances.
The $225 million PA Opportunity Plan aims to support small businesses and direct property tax relief worth $204 million. Moreover, Pennsylvania’s healthcare system has allocated amounts worth $325 million and $450 million to avail in the conservation, preservation, and revitalization of Pennsylvania grounds.
