42-Year-Old Michigan Mom Catfished and Cyberbullied Her Daughter For Over A Year
A 42-year-old mother in BEAL CITY, Mich. (TCD), is charged after she allegedly catfished her teenage daughter and delivered “demeaning” text messages to her over months.
Kendra Licari was charged on Monday, Dec. 12, with two counts of stalking a minor, two counts of committing cybercrime, and one count of obstruction of justice for harassing her daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend, the Mount Pleasant Morning Sun reported.
According to a published post by True Crime Daily, in December 2021, Licari and the boyfriend’s parents reported the harassment to the school district. The two of them worked with the Beal City Schools to find the culprit, but the Morning Sun reports the school was often hamstrung because many of the text messages were not delivered on school grounds.
Licari worked as a basketball coach at her daughter’s school back in 2021, although she was reportedly not invited back to lead the team. The alleged cyberbullying began in early 2021, WKRC-TV reported.

Michigan Mom Accused Of Catfishing And Cyberbullying Her Daughter For Over A Year
Isabella County Prosecutor David Barberi said prosecutors collected hundreds of delivered text messages, including over 1,000 pages of discovery, reported by WKRC. The daughter got up to 12 texts in a day.
Berberi stated that it was mostly just harassing-type text messages, demeaning, demoralizing, and just mean texts. Licari allegedly used a VPN to hide the actual location where she delivered the letters and posed as a different person, The Morning Sun reported.
The IP address to Licari was eventually tracked by the FBI. Barberi said that Licari’s alleged actions are called “cyber Munchausen syndrome.” Licari was sent to the Isabella County Jail and eventually got released after posting a $5,000 bond.
