Gal Gadot Survives Life-Threatening Brain Blood Clot During Pregnancy

In a heartbreaking revelation, actress Gal Gadot, famously known for her role as Wonder Woman, has shared her experience of a major health scare during her recent pregnancy. She was diagnosed with a massive blood clot in her brain while in her eighth month of pregnancy. This shocking news comes after she endured weeks of severe headaches that prompted her to seek medical help.

Gadot, who is 39 years old, faced the diagnosis in February 2024 and was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for emergency surgery. Doctors diagnosed her with a condition called Cerebral Venous Thrombosis (CVT), which affects a small number of pregnant women. While undergoing surgery, Gadot welcomed her fourth daughter, Ori, a name which means “my light” in Hebrew. Fortunately, both mother and baby are healthy, and Gadot has made a full recovery.

Weeks of Pain and Uncertainty

For weeks leading up to her emergency surgery, Gadot experienced intense headaches that became increasingly difficult to manage. Describing the pain, she noted that it felt like something was seriously wrong. This period was filled with worry and concern, as she could only hope for the best before her diagnosis finally arrived. The quick medical action taken by her doctors was crucial to saving her life and ensuring her baby’s safety.

Raising Awareness About CVT

After her experience, Gadot has taken it upon herself to educate others about Cerebral Venous Thrombosis. According to her, CVT is a rare condition that affects approximately 3 out of every 100,000 pregnant women over the age of 30. By sharing her story, Gadot hopes to inspire other expectant mothers to listen to their bodies and act on any signs of troubling symptoms. She emphasizes the importance of seeking medical help if they experience unusual pain or health concerns.

Gratitude and Recovery

Despite the frightening situation, Gadot expressed immense gratitude for her health and the arrival of her new daughter. In interviews, she conveyed how thankful she is to be alive and to be able to care for her children. Her husband, Jaron Varsano, and their children supported her during recovery, providing the love and encouragement she needed during those tough weeks.

What’s Next for Gadot?

Looking ahead, the talented actress is set to star in several upcoming films. She continues to balance her career while being a devoted mother to her four children. Gadot’s focus now is not only on her profession but also on sharing her experience to create awareness and education around such health issues, aiming to help women everywhere understand and recognize the signs of conditions like CVT.
