The singer/actor was discovered dead at his home in Seoul, South Korea, on Wednesday. He was 25.

Moonbin’s Death Has Yet To Be Determined Through An Autopsy
An autopsy is being performed to determine the cause of death. The artist’s family and Fantagio Group asked in a statement to “refrain from speculative and malicious reports.” Rumors that Moonbin committed suicide spread quickly online, fueled by a statement from local police that was widely reported in South Korean media. As of press time, USA TODAY had not been able to confirm the local authority’s statement.
ASTRO has received critical acclaim in the K-pop genre, having been named by Billboard as one of the best new K-pop acts in 2016, the same year the group released its debut EP, “Spring Up.”
“Drive to the Starry Road,” their most recent studio album, was released in 2022. Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart has featured songs such as “Breathless,” “After Midnight,” and “One.”
Moonbin’s acting credits include appearances in the South Korean television series “At Eighteen” and the lead role in the web-drama “The Mermaid Prince.”
He was also a member of the Moonbin & Sanha offshoot duo with groupmate Yoon San-ha. Since 2000, the sub-unit has released three EPs, the most recent of which was “Madness,” from their “Incense” album.
ASTRO also includes MJ, JinJin, Cha Eun-woo, and San-ha. Rocky left the band earlier this year.
