Residents of El Monte, California will have extra cash worth $500 monthly for a year. To qualify for the guaranteed income program, which offers monthly payments, the applicants must be a resident of the city and be single females heads of a household with no partners living with them.
They must also have children living with them who are younger than 18 years old and as for the income, it should be at or below the federal poverty level for this year. Lastly able to show proof that they need assistance due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moreover, only 125 are going to be selected to receive the benefit and which aims to support mothers in the city of El Monte. The program will be issued a debit card and, every month, the city will load $500 on the debit card, according to a city official.
Hence, Individuals selected to participate in the program can use the funds to pay for goods and services at any location that accepts debit cards. The city will provide training on how to utilize the debit card for participants.

When Is The Deadline Of The El Monte Guaranteed Income Program?
The application process started last March 27, 2023, and ends last April 15, 2023. The application was open at the city manager’s office in person, online, or by mail.
