The incident occurred on Saturday evening, and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) launched an investigation following a request from the Dadeville Police Chief.

At least four people have been killed and over 20 injured in a mass shooting at a teenager’s birthday party in Dadeville
The mass shooting reportedly took place at around 10:34 p.m. in the 200 Block of Broadnax Street, Tallapoosa County. Several law enforcement agencies including the Dadeville Police Department, Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and the 5 Circuit District Attorney’s Office are currently assisting in the investigation. The officials have not revealed any details about the incident, except that it was a birthday party.
A witness at the scene said that the number of victims was more than six and several people died at the scene. A photo taken by the witness showed at least six bodies lying on the ground covered with white sheets. Multiple families were seen gathered outside a local hospital following the incident, as several victims with gunshot wounds were transferred to other hospitals to receive better medical treatment.
Alabama Governor Kay Ivey tweeted her condolences, saying that “violent crime has no place in our state.”
The White House also offered support, and President Biden has been briefed on the incident. The Chief Marketing Director of Russell Medical Center in Alexander City, Susan Foy, confirmed that the hospital treated multiple victims and released them. She also stated that several victims with gunshot wounds were transferred to other hospitals. Officials have not revealed whether any arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
This mass shooting is the latest in a series of gun violence incidents in the United States. Gun violence has become a major concern for the US government and has sparked a national debate over gun control laws. The incident in Dadeville is likely to add to the calls for stricter gun control measures.
