Trump criticized Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for not canceling his out-of-state travel while some parts of southern Florida suffered from historic flooding which cause motorists to be stranded and massive traffic jams in the state.
Gov. Ron DeSantis Announced A State Of Emergency On Twitter
Furthermore, on Wednesday Florida was battered by torrential rains that forced Fort Lauderdale’s airport to shutter and sparked flooding in some places. Thursday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis posted an announcement about a state of emergency for Broward County on Twitter.
As response teams operate to deal with the disaster, Fort Lauderdale said in an update that roads throughout the city are still impassable, citing an “extreme amount of water.” DeSantis has not yet released any statement about Trump Jr.’s remarks on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Democratic state senator Shevrin Jones attacks DeSantis in a statement issued Thursday. “It is disgraceful and speaking about his priorities that DeSantis desired to campaign and continue his book tour in Ohio rather than governing Florida. He has failed as a leader of the state,” the statement says.
