Billionaire Donor Fund Carrol’s Rape Case Expenses, Trump Bid To Delay The Civil Trial

Former President Donald Trump asked a judge to delay his upcoming civil trial of a rape case after knowing that a billionaire donated some funds to Democratic causes and it paid some of the accuser’s legal fees.

The information came after the lawyer Jean Carroll told Trump that she received donations from a non-profit organization to pay for her expenses and legal fees. Trump’s Lawyer said that he already know who is the one who found her, it is the LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, they knew that Hoffman is Carroll’s supporter and also his organization is a non-profit, they know that he is a Billionaire donor who donates to the fund.

Trump’s lawyer seeks the judge to reopen and reinvestigate the case and delay the trial for a month. It is the second time that Trump’s lawyer asked for a retrial.

Last Thursday, Judge Louis Kaplan released a statement that the defense can investigate how Carroll’s legal bills are being paid and Carroll could have 60 minutes for questioning only on the matter. Jude Kaplan gives tight deadline to extend the trial next week but he rejects Trump’s lawyer’s request to delay. The trial will still start on April 25. Carroll’s Lawyer opposed Trump’s lawyer’s request because he said that the one who fund her financial support is a non-profit organization, which is irrelevant to the case.
