Kathryn Hansen, 27, was arrested in Phoenix on Friday, two months after the murder of 32-year-old Keith Emmons

Emmons was found with multiple gunshot wounds in Mesa, Arizona, and died at the scene. Hansen was identified as the suspect by witnesses, and a warrant was issued for her arrest on charges of first-degree murder.

The Phoenix Police Department notified the Mesa Police Department on Friday that they had information on Hansen’s whereabouts, and she was taken into custody shortly afterward. Hansen now faces additional charges connected to the fatal shooting of Aaron Byous, 41, at a home near Union Hills Drive and 16th Street in January.

It is unclear how detectives connected Hansen to this shooting

The Mesa Police Department thanked the community for their assistance in the case, saying that tips from the public allowed detectives to follow up on leads that led to Hansen’s arrest. Hansen is currently in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.

This incident is yet another example of the ongoing issue of gun violence in the United States. Shootings continue to be a major problem, and innocent people are often caught in the crossfire.

While the police and the justice system work to bring those responsible to justice, it is also important for communities to come together and take action to prevent future tragedies.
