Chicago Police Warn of Armed Robberies Targeting US Postal Service Carriers

Chicago police have issued a warning to the public regarding a series of armed robberies that have taken place in the city over the past month.

The targets of these robberies have been mail carriers who work for the U.S. Postal Service

According to reports, one to three suspects have been approaching mail carriers and demanding that they hand over their postal keys. These robberies have taken place at least twelve times between March 2 and April 5, and the suspects have fled the scene after each incident.

The robberies have all taken place during the day, with the earliest occurring at 11:20 a.m. and the latest at 7:40 p.m. In one instance, the suspects even stole the mail carrier’s vehicle.

The suspects are believed to be Black men between the ages of 15 and 25, and they have been seen wearing dark clothes and ski masks. Authorities also believe that the suspects were armed with semi-automatic handguns during the robberies.

The safety of mail carriers is of the utmost importance, and authorities are taking this matter very seriously. The U.S. Postal Service has issued a statement urging all carriers to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity immediately.
