According to authorities in northeastern Montana, a jail inmate who had taken a hostage at the Glasgow hospital was shot by a sheriff’s deputy.

According to Valley County Sheriff Tom Boyer, a jail inmate who had held a hostage at the Glasgow hospital was shot by a sheriff’s deputy in northeastern Montana.

It happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. Francis Mahon Deaconess Hospital on Wednesday.

For medical attention, the prisoner was flown to a facility in Billings. The prisoner’s name, the reason they were hospitalized, or the extent of their injuries have not been made public by the authorities.

According to a statement from Boyer, the shooting is being looked into by the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation.

Who was taken hostage and how were not disclosed by the sheriff’s office. The incident also involved a detention officer and a worker from the hospital, according to Boyer. No other people were hurt.
