An 81-year-old Colorado man accused of killing his wife and daughter with an ax told police that he already lost his job and was afraid that they would end up being homeless.
Ax Killing Case: Suspect Colorado Man Afraid Of Homelessness
Reginald Maclaren, 81 year old Colorado Man didn’t regret killing his wife and daughter with an ax. He said in court documents that his family are already in a better place. Maclaren was arrested Saturday and was put to jail on Tuesday after being taken to the Hospital. According to the police spokesperson this man have a preexisting medical condition.
Police stated that Maclaren called on Saturday to tell them that his Wife and Daughter have been killed and that he knew who the suspect was. Police found the dead bodies of two woman in the trash can.
Tracy Jones, Chief of Englewood Police Division said on a press conference that Maclaren’s crime scene is one of the most gruesome crime they had ever seen. She added that the officers involved in the case were already receiving mental health support.

Ax Killing Case Suspect Afraid Of Being Homeless
Maclaren’s arrest affidavit told the police investigator that he is very frustrated because he lost his job at Hospital Shared Services, and did not have any money left. He added that they need to move out because he could not pay the rent. He also said that he has interactions with homeless people and he doesn’t want to be like them and he knew that it will give them a miserable life.
Maclaren’s Case will be represented by a lawyer from state public defender’s office.
