Queer Works and DAP Health, two non-profit organizations in Palm Springs, California, are offering a “universal basic income pilot” program in which eligible Americans may receive $800 monthly payments.

The funding for the program was allocated by the Palm Springs City Council, which has provided $500,000 to support the initiative. The program will last for a year and a half and will provide 30 individuals with $800 monthly payments.
To qualify for the program, an individual’s income must be no more than 30% of the median income of Riverside County, which is below $16,600 annually for one person, according to a published article in The U.S. Sun.
Furthermore, applicants must be clients of DAP Health or Queer Works, or enroll with one of these organizations by March 14. They must also reside, work, or spend most of their time in Palm Springs, be primary residents of Palm Springs, and agree to participate in the study, which will require data collection and surveys.

When To Receive the $800 Monthly Payment?
However, the application window closed on March 25, and after the applications are submitted, participants will be randomly selected.
Participants will be notified of their acceptance on March 30, according to the program’s timeline. Recipients will receive their first monthly payment of $800 on May 15.
