Florida Police Arrest Two St. Peter’s Nursing Home Employees

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office that Rosa Edwards, 23 years old, and Aneisha Hall, 19 years old were both arrested on two counts each of battery on the elderly aged 65 or older.  Both employees are presently suspended and pending termination from Inspired Living at Ivy Ridge Assisted Living Facility on 40th Avenue North in unincorporated St. Peter’s nursing home, investigators said.

On Sunday, March 12, the sheriff’s office said they received a report of two employees battering two different residents at the nursing home. The executive director at the St. Peter’s nursing home informed deputies after watching the happening on surveillance video.

The Two Employees Was Caught By A Surveillance Video

Fox 13 Tampa Bay News reported that the investigators said the surveillance videotape witnessed Edwards and Hall starting an altercation with an elderly man who was driving another resident, an elderly woman, in her wheelchair. That’s when deputies said Edwards was seen hitting the man with a lanyard while laughing.  Edwards and Hall then grabbed the man and started taking him to the ground as he tried to hold on to the wheelchair, which caused it to fall sideways with the woman still sitting in it. PCSO said both workers are then seen dashing away out of the camera’s sight, leaving both elderly victims at St. Peter’s nursing home laying on the ground.

Hall and Edwards declared the incident to their co-worker, but they informed them that the man battered the woman, and they were not involved in the altercation according to Pinellas County deputies.  When deputies talked with Edwards, she admitted that she used extreme force while dealing with the incident and most said they should have taken it differently, PCSO said.  The elderly residents were not injured in the altercation, according to deputies.
