Gov. Greg Abbott released a statement on Texas SNAP benefits about its status and if it the federally funded program will be extended after this month.
Texas SNAP Benefits
The Texas SNAP benefits have helped millions of residents in the state in meeting their daily needs. But the federally funded Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP) benefits program is about to end this month. Meanwhile, some states have already released their position to extend the program by putting funds on it.
In a published article in KCENTV, Gov. Greg Abbott released a statement on Texas SNAP benefits. He said, “The State of Texas has been able to help millions of families across our great state access the food they need to stay healthy.”
He also added, “We’re proud to have provided billions of dollars in supplemental benefits so Texans could have healthy and nutritious food options to take care of their families and loved ones,” He mentioned this when he announced that over $345 million in Texas SNAP benefits were provided for the whole month of February.

Will there be Another Texas SNAP Benefits?
Even though state Gov. Greg Abbott made an announcement of the Texas SNAP benefits, it is still not clear until now if the federally funded program will be funded by the state in March. It is about to end this month and will go back to the pre-pandemic level.
Moreover, there were around 1.6 million households that were given Texas SNAP benefits assistance this February. The changes in the Texas SNAP benefits next month could possibly affect millions of families who heavily rely on and are dependent on the program.
