Elderly Brutally Assault On San Francisco Streets
On Tuesday, San Francisco police released a video showing a man brutally assaulting a 78-year-old. The black hooded sweatshirt crossed Natoma Street in the SoMa District and, without warning, struck the victim who was walking with a cane on the ground. The incident occurred just after 7:30 a.m. on January 8, police said.
The suspect escaped on foot and an employee from a nearby business helped the injured man back on his feet. He was rushed to a hospital and good thing the man only experience non-life-threatening injuries. Senator Scott Weiner claimed, “When I saw that video I was completely horrified.” Weiner, whose district includes San Francisco, thinks there needs to be a zero-tolerance policy for that kind of violence.
“We have witnessed several assaults like this on the streets of San Francisco mainly targeting our seniors and it’s disgusting, we need a policy that if you act like this you’re going to get convicted, you’re going to get prosecuted,” said Weiner.
