The American Rescue Plan Act, signed into law by Congress, Winston-Salem, and Forsyth County has approved new stimulus money to provide citizens in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The American Rescue Plan Act, signed into law by Congress, Winston-Salem, and Forsyth County has approved new stimulus money to provide citizens in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The New Stimulus

The City approved $4.4 million to distribute among 10 community groups or agencies, while the county approved $3.1 million allocated to seven entities. The money was given from a pool of $10.5 million set aside to carry out what is called transformational grants, grants designed to provide social and economic assistance especially directed to low-income communities.

Here Are The List Of Organizations Which The City Granted For The Stimulus Money

  • Imprints Cares

The organization is set to receive $500,000 to ais the Family Resource Center for Children with Exceptional Needs. This money is intended to expand the learning programs directed at children to age 5.

  • Que Pasa 

Worth $386,150 to be given to Que Pasa for Project Butterfly, an online guidelines hub for the Hispanic community.

  • IBF Solutions

Will have $300,000 for job training and employment for the blind.

  • Goler Community Development Corporation and the Black Chamber of Commerce

The workforce program will receive $500,926 to increase employment in the information and technology sector.

  • Piedmont Environmental Alliance

$195,000 will be funded for the growth of “green” jobs in the local economy.

  • Senior Services

Worth $450,000 will be dedicated to the Intergenerational Center for Arts and Wellness.
