Stimulus Checks In 2023

As the economy has suffered from a pandemic, and skyrocketing inflation, the federal government has stepped in multiple times to aid Americans through a variety of relief initiatives, including stimulus checks, tax rebates, debt relief, and other relief programs. Unfortunately, the Stimulus that brought much of this relief has mostly come to an end, though some programs have approved payments from 2022 that will continue to roll out into 2023.

On the East Coast, several states have their versions of stimulus that will extend from 2022 into 2023 in some form or another.

Here Are 5 East Coast States  That Still Pays Out Stimulus Checks in 2023

  • Relief Rebate Program In Delaware

Residents who filed income taxes in 2021, may have been eligible in Delaware for a one-time payment of $300 through Delaware’s Relief Rebate Program. Residents ages 18 and older who applied earlier in 2022 should have received their checks in May or June, but those who applied as late as December 31 can have their checks arriving sometime in 2023 from the Delaware Department of Finance.

  • Surplus Tax Refunds in Massachusetts

In 2022 Massachusetts experienced a $3 billion surplus and decided to divide that money among residents in the form of tax refunds. Residents who process their application in 2022 should get their money already, but residents who file their taxes on or before September 15, 2023, are still eligible and should receive their funds within a month after filing, but no later than September 2023.

  • ANCHOR Program in New Jersey

New Jersey residents can still avail the property tax refunds through the Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR) program. Households are eligible for $1,000 or $1,500, while renters can receive up to $450. January 31, 2023, is the deadline for 2023 filing, and applications for the ANCHOR program must be filed with the state’s Division of Taxation.

  • Property Tax Rebate in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania has had an ongoing program since 1971 that benefits seniors. They are giving out a refund of property taxes or rent paid for seniors. The maximum standard rebate is $650, but those who qualify for supplemental rebates can get up to $975.

The annual income limit is $35,000 for households and $15,000 a year for renters, though half of Social Security income is excluded. To get funds, an application is required, and it must be filed with the state’s Department of Revenue by December 31, 2023.

  • Bonus Tax Refunds in Virginia

Virginia sent eligible taxpayers $250 ($500 for joint filers) in the form of one-time bonus tax refunds. While the majority of checks were sent out in September. However, for those who filed at the later end of the application window, some checks may still be on their way out in early 2023.
