$540 For New Yorkers Affected by Christmas Snowstorm Power Outages

According to a published post by The US Sun, more than 3,000 flights were grounded in the US, and numerous passengers were separated from their luggage for nearly a week. Buffalo, which achieved this milestone more quickly than any other city, saw snowfall totals of over 100 inches. Anyone who has experienced a power outage may file a claim for $540 to cover any damages.

Are You Eligible?

People who experienced lengthy outages are compensated under a new state law in New York. Since the snowstorm had unexpected effects on people all over the upstate regions, many people are making these claims for the first time.

You can only get the money if you were without power for a continuous period of 72 hours or longer. You must submit documentation within 14 days of the outage in order to be eligible to receive the $540.
