Application Deadline For Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program
According to the announcement of the Department of Revenue, the Deadline for the application of the elderly and persons with disability will start from June 30 to Dec. 31, 2022, it was extended for the applicants applying for rebates on rent and property taxes paid in 2021.
Claimants of the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program are encouraged to file their rebate applications online by visiting mypath.pa.gov. The Department of Revenue created the online alternative to make it simpler for the Pennsylvanians who annually benefit from the program to file their applications.
The rebate program helps qualified Pennsylvanians age 65 and older, widows and widowers age 50 and older, and persons with disabilities aged 18 and older. Half of Social Security income is exempt from the $35,000 yearly limit for homeowners and the $15,000 annual restriction for renters.
The maximum basic rebate is $650, however, supplemental rebates for some qualifying households and supplementary incentives can raise payments to $975. The Department of Revenue automatically determines supplemental rebates for qualifying homeowners.
When Can You Receive Your Rebates?
At the beginning of July 1, the rebates will be distributed as required by law. You are going to expect a call from an automated system from the Department of Revenue when your claim posts to the department’s processing system if you indicate your contact information on Property Tax/Rent Rebate application form or in the myPATH electronic application. when your claim is accepted, another automated call will be sent to you.
