A 42-Year-Old Mother Accused Of Bullying And Catfished Her Teenaged Daughter For Over A Year

In Beal City, Mich (TCD), For over months, a 42-year-old mom of a teenage daughter was facing charges after she has been sending her daughter “demeaning” messages, degrading her daughter. On Monday, December 12, Kendra Licari was charged with 2-counts of stalking a minor and using a computer to perpetrate a felony and 1-count of abusing her daughter and her daughter’s then-boyfriend.

According to a published post by True Crime Daily, the same month, in December 2021, Licari and the boyfriend’s mother reported the harassment to the school district. The 2 worked with the schools in the City of Beal to track down the culprit, but then, the Morning Sun reports that the messages were not sent on school grounds.

In 2021, Licari was working as a basketball coach at her daughter’s school, but she was reportedly not asked back for her to coach and lead the team. According to the WKRC-TV report, the allegation of cyberbullying started in early 2021.

David Barberi, Isabella County’s prosecutor, said that prosecutors had collected “numerous hundreds of text messages,” including more than 1,000 pages of findings. The daughter of Licari reportedly received up to 12 text messages in a single day.

Barberi said, “It was mostly harassing type of text messages, insulting, demoralizing and just mean texts.” The Morning Sun reported that Licari turns out to use a VPN to hide the real location from which the message was sent, posing as different teens.

Eventually, the FBI got involved and tracked down the IP address to Licari. After further investigation, according to the WWTV/WWUP-TV report, Barberi called Licari’s alleged behavior as “cyber Munchausen syndrome.” Licari was held in the Isabella County Jail and discharged after dispatching $5,000 bail.
