Trump Leading By A Lot in Recent Polls
Former President Trump, who entered the White House campaign as early as 2024, spoke to Truth Social on Thursday to dispute current polling showing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (Republican), widely believed to be a potential presidential candidate, surpassing the former president in hypothetical preliminary match-ups.
In Trump’s post, he pointed to a poll conducted by McLaughlin & Associates, a polling firm that worked with the Trump campaign in 2020. When respondents were asked who they would vote for in the 2024 GOP presidential primary, DeSantis was 36%, while he was 58%.
Trump stated, “This is a McLaughlin & Associates poll results I got in 2016 and 2020. In other words, this is a REAL SURVEY.” He further states, “In contrast to WSJ, NBC Fake News, ABC Fake News, Fake Poll FOX News, the dying and very sick USA Today and other LameStream media. As you can see, we’ve come a long way, even though the Communists (Democrats) will never end targeting the MAGA Great Patriots and me.”
Trump blasts polling that shows DeSantis surging: ‘Leading by a lot’ in ‘REAL POLLING’
According to a published post by Newsbreak, in the Truth Social post, DeSantis leads Trump with a 2x digital lead, including Wall Street Journal poll showing Trump likely to be underrepresented in the 2024 GOP primary match-up.
This week’s USA Today-Suffolk University poll discovered that Trump followed DeSantis by 33% to 56% in the hypothetical GOP presidential primary among Republican and Republican-leaning voters.
DeSantis has yet to officially announce his 2024 campaign, while Trump has officially announced another offer from the White House. But after November’s midterm elections delivered disappointing results for the Republicans, as many of Trump’s candidates struggled to cross the finish line, leaving the election results in jeopardy for other Republicans to enter the race.
