Kenmore Man Found Guilty Of Murdering Girlfriend And Stuffing Her Remains In Suitcase
Jamie, a 27-year-old woman disappeared around June 8, 2016. The police found her disappearance doubtful since the victim’s mobile phone and credit cards weren’t used since she was last seen.
In October, the court found David Haggard, a 48-years of age man, the half-brother of the victim guilty. The litter crew found the woman’s remains while picking up some trash. Human remains were partially burned in a suitcase.
The victim’s body was already decomposed when the authorities found her to the extent that they couldn’t even tell if it was a man or a woman. Along with the decomposed body are her suitcase and blanket found nearby.
After more than 60 days of investigation, A doctor later confirmed that the body was indeed Jamie. The King Country Sheriff’s office stated that the victim had a fickle relationship with the suspect, David. Before the incident happened, Jamie told her boyfriend she feared her brother might murder her.
The victim was slapped and assaulted by David just before her disappearance, which the suspect did not deny.

Trying to hide the murder, Haggard burned the evidence including construction equipment that had his fingerprints. The murderer also messaged the family about Jamie’s disappearance because “he did not want the family to worry”. The court said in 2019 when witnesses saw Jamie, David replied and said “was not possible” leading to David being suspicious.
According to a published post by Q13Fox, David Haggard was then found guilty of second-degree murder and sentenced to stay in prison for 15 years due to the murder of his half-sister Jamie.
