For a number of years, he spread lies about the incident on his show InfoWars. This said the incident caused the victims’ families’ lives like a living hell. Sandy Hook Family Victims Asks The Court to Reconsider Jones’ Bankruptcy Claims.
In Jones’ bankruptcy filing he listed as his creditors the families to whom he owes nearly $1.5 billion and estimated his assets to be worth between $1 million and $10 million. He hopes to persuade a bankruptcy court to discharge most of his debts and use its authority to wave his debts and make them disappear.
However, it is unlikely to happen due to the penalties Jones faces in accordance with the bankruptcy law for the intentional infliction of emotional distress as a type considerably “non-dischargeable”. The Sandy Hook family asks the court to establish this as bankruptcy courts usually defer to judgments by other courts.
