The Palacio de Congresos de Plasencia (Cáceres) will host the first edition of the Iberian Forum on Sustainability and Digitization of Tourism Companies and Interior Destinations on December 1.
A meeting organized by the General Directorate of Tourism of the Junta de Extremadura in collaboration with SEGITTUR and Ametic , the association that represents the digital industry sector in Spain.
The II Tourism Plan for Extremadura 2021-2023 and the Sustainable Tourism Strategy for Extremadura 2030, documents agreed upon and signed by the Junta de Extremadura and the social and economic agents, define the roadmap for the sector for the coming years .
Sustainability and digitization are “fundamental pillars in a strategy that aims to modernize the destination and the tourist offer in the region,” the Board states in a press release.
The day will be a space for meeting, dialogue and training on sustainability and digitization , following the transformation of the tourism model as the common thread. Different representatives of national, regional and local companies, administrations and public entities from both Spain and Portugal will participate in it.
The inaugural presentation will be given by the head of the Sustainable Tourism Area of the Secretary of State for Tourism, Ricardo Blanco . This will be followed by an introductory table to the dialogue in which the president of the AMETIC Smart Cities Commission, the Head of Section of the General Directorate of Digital Agenda of Extremadura and the General Director of Tourism of the Junta de Extremadura, will intervene. moderated by the president of Informaria.
Four discussion tables will then be held with the following themes: ‘Smart digital Iberian tourist destinations’, ‘Marketing and marketing of inland hotels’, ‘Historical routes in rural territories’ and ‘Inland tourism use case: continental beaches ‘.
Music and gastronomy at the Palacio de Congresos
On the other hand, on Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3, the ‘ Music and Gastronomy Festival ‘ will take place at the Palacio de Congresos de Plasencia, with the participation of Extremaduran artists Heiser, Touré, Cecilia Zango and Swing Ton ni Song. .
