FC Cincinnati played the Pittsburgh Riverhounds to a tepid 0-0 draw at Highmark Stadium on Wednesday evening. Head coach John Harkes made several lineup changes in response to the heavy schedule of games his team has played recently. Newly acquired forward Casey Townsend started the match and was nearly the difference maker. His 67th minute strike from close range beat the keeper but was denied by the crossbar.

FC Cincinnati remains in third place in the Eastern Conference. This result sets the stage for a dramatic return to Nippert Stadium on Saturday, September 17th, when they play their last regular season home match. Over 20K tickets have been sold already. A victory in that match will seal a home playoff game for the Orange and Blue.
