FC Cincinnati captured a statement victory on Saturday afternoon by beating local rival Louisville City FC 2-0 at Nippert Stadium. Because they won by a two goal margin, they also claimed the River Cities Cup, a prize for the team that had the best points total over the 3 matches played between Cincinnati and Louisville this USL season. Andrew Wiedeman opened the scoring in the 39th minute from close range with a great individual effort. Sean Okoli doubled the lead in the 59th minute with an emphatic headed goal from a corner kick.
